Emergency Medical Technician Program

Are you ready to make a difference when every second counts? Our Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program gives you the skills, confidence, and certification needed to step into one of the most rewarding careers in health care.

Get hands-on experience with real-world emergency scenarios through Plano ISD's partnership with Collin College. 

Whether your long-term goal is to be a paramedic, a nurse, a physician's assistant, or a doctor, the Plano ISD EMT Program provides unmatched experience in patient care, teamwork, and critical decision making. 

The 2026-27 EMT Dual Credit Program Application deadline is Friday February 6th, 2026 at 5pm. 

Students interested in the EMT Program must meet the following criteria:

  • Be on track with all requirements to graduate in 2027

  • Have three elective periods available in their class schedule

  • Have reliable personal transportation to and from clinical sites

  • Be at least 18 years old by April 1 of their senior year

  • Successfully pass a background check and drug screening prior to clinical placement

  • Complete the entire EMT Application and be accepted into the program

Plano ISD Dual Credit EMT Program Application Process

Students interested in participating in the dual credit EMT program for the 2026-2027 academic year will need to complete an application process in order to be considered for the EMT program. There are 4 steps to the application. Please read each step carefully and be sure that you finish every part of the application so you can get the best score possible.

All parts of the application must be submitted no later than Friday, February 6, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. (CST) to qualify.

Students who do not complete the required application process by this deadline will forfeit their opportunity to participate in a Dual Credit EMT program.
